Topic: Say no to Pride

Memory verse: Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall …. Proverbs 16:18

Word for Thought: Pride is an enemy of progress,

One thing to say, no this of is pride. From our main text, pride goes before a fall. This is from the wise man. Pride is a pill that when you swallow, you begin to say to yourself “I did it!”instead of “God did it!”. God resists the proud mind, soul and spirit, but He gives strength to the humble heart as in James 4:6. Somebody’s life was cut short, when he attributed all his accomplishment to himself, that same night, God said, this very night, your soul will be taken away from you, and he died. Humility is a key for open heavens. Even if the whole world knows you made it, yet, give all the glory to God. Each day is the Lord’s.

We are all working and living in God’s plan, if he should go on vacation or leave or sleep for one day, we all will be found dead in a second. The devil is working hard to kill us each day as in John 10:10, but Christ has come to Give life. Pride kills and it is not friendly to progress, it will slow you down. Some people are struggling all because of pride. They have the gift, they can do wonders, they can preach, they can even have revelations and also prophesy but pride has slowed them down. If you cannot be humbled, you will be humiliated. Humility is a key to progress in any gift from God.

Saul was anointed, but the kingdom was taken from him. He did what he was anointed for. The proud do what he or she is not anointed for and so God rejects them and the devil takes them. Although they can do all it takes, but then God has rejected them. We all know Saul was still king, but David did not revolt the kingdom, although he had all it takes, but he touched not the anointed.

Many young servants are persecuting old servants of God, but today is a clarion call for repentance. We must repent no matter how anointed we are, we must humble ourselves in the church God has planted us if we do not want to be wasted. If you can sing, pray, preach, prophesy, etc., do it to the Glory of God. I love you and I know God loves you more, Shalom!

·         Pray and thank the Lord for His word today.

·         Pray that God will guide and protect you all your life.

·         Pray that God will give you the grace to be humble even when you find yourself at the top.

·         Pray this “Every plan of the devil must fail concerning my destiny, in Jesus name”
