Topic: Say no to Mr. Flesh

Word for Thought: The Flesh is a package, not the real product.

Christianity is spiritual not physical. Our spiritual man relates to our human spirit or soul as the flesh relates to the materialistic things of this world. Until man sinned in the Garden of Eden, man was clothed with the glory of God. There was no flesh so man needed no clothes to cover himself, the Glory of God was our clothe. We could see and fellowship with God and possibly angels; but when sin came, flesh came. Although the flesh was our package, we were not living by it, but rather spiritual.

The flesh is not friendly to the spirit at all. As in Galatians 5: 17 “For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish”. The greatest war we fight each day is not with the devil, but our flesh. The spirit will indeed be willing but the flesh is indeed opposing. The flesh opposes righteousness but opens the door for lust and desires of this world, prostitution, corruption, homosexuality, rape, burglary etc.

The real you is not the one you are trying to paint every day; is not the one you are trying to slim or lose weight every day; the real you is not the one you want to buy the nice car for or build the nice house for, but the real you is the soul that lives in this body called flesh. The flesh is just a package of you. When you buy a product, you are interested in the product not the package that is why the Bible declares strongly that, the flesh will die, but your soul lives on. 

Depending on how you lived your life, will determine where your soul goes. That is why you must say no to Mr. Flesh. You need to be born again by crucifying your flesh. The flesh fulfills the lust of the world, whiles your soul must be in line with the Spirit of God. What will profit a man if he gains the whole world and lose his soul? Live your life in Christ and for Christ.

Prayers:

1.      Praise and worship God today for the gift of life.

2.      Pray this “ I renounce every seed in me that oppose my spirit man in Jesus name”

3.      Pray that your path will be guided by God not your flesh.

4.      Pray that every satanic agenda for your life today will fail in Jesus name.
