Peace in Midst of Storm

Topic: Peace in Midst of Storm.

For some years now I wonder how Jesus slept in the midst of the storm. In fact, in the boat were great fishermen who knew how to deal with bigger storms but all were screaming for their lives. This storm was great and deadly but yet Jesus was sleeping.

I have never traveled on the sea before so I don’t know how a storm can make you scream your heart out but I know that, the great wind of the sea is a moving force that move great ships, goods and can contain larger fishes in the sea. The Prophet Jonah even though he was disobedient to God. was also sleeping in the ship whiles the storm was ranging and the people around marveled.

Life events and eventualities can also create a great storm around your life. Marriage problems can cause a great storm. Stubborn and vagabond sons and daughters can be a great storm. Bad business, strange friends, poor services, diseases and sicknesses, family problems, bad church and poor church growth, all can be storms of life. But, my question is; what do you do?

Jesus slept in the boat to tell us that, in the midst of the storm you can sleep if only you wake Him up. When Jesus was asleep the people were crying and wailing, some including Peter the great fisherman were calling on their friends to help but none came. When you call on people or on man, you shall fail. Don’t look to man to solve man’s problem, but rather look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Call on Jesus in prayer, wake Him up because He never sleep nor slumber.

Peter was caught in the prison, but he slept in the midst of the guards because the church was praying. Until you pray, your storm ranges. In the story of Jonah, remember they prayed and then, the storm came down. Prayer is to seek the face of God. Seek Him continually so you can rest continuously.

God loves you and wants to set you free. Jesus died for you and salvation is the gateway for divine blessings and abundance. If you are not born again, you are not free and the promises of God are not for you. The greatest investment in life is to insure your soul. He Sees Your Cry

Topic: He Sees Your Cry.

God saw the plight and the shame that Hannah was going through. So when she made the vow, God speedily came to her need. Today any shame you are going through will stop in Jesus name.Anytime I see people in pain and distress my heart bleeds. Sometimes I wish I can do something. When I see single mums with their children trying to form lines here and there only to get the chance to feed them, my heart pounds for help. There are many who are suffering. Some have disappointed jobs, broken marriages, long and chronic diseases, bareness, and rejection.

The good news is that, our God sees our pain and our cry. Beloved, many people are suffering. They are at the verge of giving up to life, some have died others still hanging on. Don't hesitate to help others regardless of whether they will appreciate it or not. Some have suffered enough that no man or woman can help except God intervene. We serve a living God who cares and sees all our pain and struggles.

God called Abraham to bless him but he became barren for 25 years, Jacob was meant to be blessed but he has to wrestle to get it, Moses was meant to be a deliverer but he has to run into the wilderness when he tried the first time. David was anointed and in Psalm 89, God said no enemy can exact upon him but he was oppressed by Saul to the extent that, he has to cry unto the Lord as says in our main text.

May be you have been toiling all night, crying and weeping all your days and weeks, but the good news is that; God our deliverer has seen your cry. Just as Joseph your deliverance is just on the way, hold on and stead fast in prayer, the same way He answered Abraham, He is going to do the same for you. Any one pursuing your destiny shall be disappointed. The last struggle shall be your last and no affliction is permitted the second time. As a child of the kingdom, you are coming out in Jesus name.

Life & Death Situation.

Topic: Life & Death Situation.

It is easy to predict what to do, but another when you come in contact with that situation. A Christian who preaching against another pastor or another Christian doesn’t know the heat that the man or woman encountered before he or she made that choice and people will quickly judge them. Although divorce is not accepted, pre-marital engagements are not accepted in Christianity, gay and lesbianism practices are not accepted and God hate all those practices, but how do we treat such brothers and sisters who fall into such traps?

Some carry trumpets and they sound the sins of others, they drum the beats only to play the sin of others whiles they forget about their sins and even their family’s sins. Don’t lift up the stone to cast if you have never sinned before. We easily preach against people who sin instead of preaching against that sin. We must not hate people who sin or fall in the arms of Satan, but we must be ready to snatch them out through prayers.

When the woman was caught, the law sentenced her to death. It was a life and death situation. The people hated her and wanted to quickly stone her to death. They took her from her home and family, she became an outcast that no man or woman wanted her alive. But the one that died and rose on the third day, overturned that ruling and gave her life instead of the death sentence. Today, may God overturn any deadly pronouncements over your life and destiny in Jesus name!

Men may point hands at you based on what you have done, but God will open His hands to received you based on what He has done on the cross. Under these circumstances, listen to what God will say not what men say. They always forget what they have done in the secret, but God who knows your heart is ready to cleanse you by His blood. We are the righteousness of God in Christ, favored by His grace. Please stay away from sin, not those who sinned. God bless you.

Take Action

Topic: Take Action.

They say words are cheap, even the poorest man can buy them. If wishes were horses, I know my dear, beggars will ride and is easier said than done. Many people speak words that are sweet to hear but just a few fulfil what they say. Many preachers preach, but very few people are doing what they are preaching. They shout, scream, dance around, say amen and amen, do some acrobats yet; he will be the one to do the otherwise. By their fruits, you shall know them. Your actions determine your notion.

What are you waiting for? You have money, a house, a car, a good and a great job what are you waiting for again to marry if I may ask? You have the brains to study, you are in a country of no limitations, a land of great opportunity, dear, what are you waiting for? The world awaits the manifestation of the sons of God to take action. Many Christians don’t like schooling and now by statistics are not great inventors. We have allowed the world to set up businesses for us and we are begging them to hire us, please my dear reader take action.

If the earth is the Lord and the fullness thereof; Lord grant all my readers, the strength to take action in Jesus name. Papa Abraham waited on God for 25 years but after serving the angels of God, then prophecy came. Manoah and his wife the same, then Samson came. Until an action is taken, your blessing is taken. To act is to walk in faith, your faith produces your works.

Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?” Although the kingdom has been given to him, his action made him wiser than all on the land. God blesses those who act in faith.

Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt-offerings on the altar. And the Lord smelled a soothing or sweet aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake. Because of his action, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, day and night have never ceased. Please take action.

A Sure Promise

Topic: A Sure Promise.

The Bible is full of promises. In fact, from Genesis to revelation, there are over 3500 promises of God in the Bible. Is enough to depend on them each day. Christianity is a faith based movement. No one has seen God before, and few people saw Jesus yet no one has seen Him physically after He went up to heaven. This tells you and me that without faith you cannot serve God. We believe in the invisible but visible through faith God.

Faith is the universal language of all believers. Faith is what we depend on each day.You cannot understand this message, except by faith. We believe in God by faith, we believe in heaven, paradise, where you and I are expected to be by faith. Without faith, you cannot please God. Faith connects us to God. We talk to God by faith we believe He hears; the effectiveness of prayer is faith centered.

It takes faith to believe in the promises of God. The promises of God are yea and amen. God’s promises just as His covenants are sure and they come to pass. For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore, also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us. I have passed through a very difficult and a tough life before, but I depended on God because men fail but He never fails.

The disciples believed in His promise and Pentecost came to pass. Abraham depended on His promises, waited patiently for Isaac even when it was not possible biologically. I don’t know what you are going through now, but I will entreat you to keep on trusting Him, all your problems shall come to pass. Remember that no temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man, just depend on His sure promise. God is too faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.

Hearing God 2

Topic: Hearing God 2.

Daily Quote: “Our failure to hear His voice when we want to is due to the fact that we do not in general want to hear it, that we want it only when we think we need it.” ― Dallas Willard

The problem of hearing from God comes as to whether we are truly filled with the Holy Ghost. In fact, the great Shepherd guides and speak to His sheep. But if you are not His, how can you hear? Our spiritual insensitivity has deprived us from hearing from God. But as you read today’s message may you be filled with the Holy Ghost, in Jesus name.

Before and after Pentecost, the disciples operated and they acted in accordance of scriptures. God speaks but He greatly do so through his Word. There are two ways of hearing through scriptures. Either you hear God through His written Word, that is Jesus speaking into your spirit man, that is the logos; or you hear Him from His spoken Word or the revealed word through meditation by the help of the Holy Spirit, his is Rhema.

Whichever way you hear God; you must be ready to carry out an assignment, since all Scripture, both the Rhema and the Logos are given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Since God is Spirit, He speaks to our spirit man, sometimes a loud or a still small voice, but it takes your spiritual sensitivity to discern. You need the help of the Holy Ghost to understand scriptures. You can read, but may not understand. Until you are helped by God, you cannot hear from Him.

Today on this platform, I want to encourage you to build up yourself in the Holy Ghost. This is because He is the master that helps us hearing from God. Without Him, you cannot please God. Desire to pray and fast till you can hear from Him. Hearing from God is not a gift but a privilege given to the children of God.

Coming Out by Power

It takes the power of the Holy Ghost to bring you out of fear and mediocrity. Man of power never hides. Peter as well as the other believers was unlearned but after Pentecost, there was a supernatural turn around. Power changed hands, and the Pharisee became marveled, they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another.

But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day; But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh. This year, your enemies will look at you and give God the praise for your life.

Anyone of power is feared. Peter who was hiding came out to preach fearlessly and that same day 3000 people gave their lives to Christ. The disciples prayed for boldness and Power came down like a mighty rushing wind. Beloved, I don’t know what you are after, but I am after every power gift I can lay my hands on. I am not after any earthly kind of comfort or position but power. If you have power you can get anything. Wonders and signs follow men of power. I am desperately in need of power as a believer because, without power, I can’t do anything.

Jesus was full of power, went about doing wonders, demons surrendered before Him. He says behold you shall receive power when the Holy Ghost comes upon you. Jesus realized that you and I cannot do anything to please Him unless that man or woman carries the power of the Holy Ghost.

Pentecostals believe that Spirit baptism will be accompanied by the physical evidence of speaking in tongues (glossolalia). When I got born again it took me a while to be baptized in the Holy Ghost. I was cold and hot but when the empowerment came, fire erupted in me. I came out of the dark.

Hearing God

Topic: Hearing God.

Memory Verse: "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." Rev 3:22 (NIV)

The problem of this generation Christians is our inability to hear from God, but one of the greatest benefits of our salvation has to be that of hearing God speak to us personally. There can be no intimate relationship with our heavenly Father without it. How can we live with our earthly fathers and mothers without hearing their voice? But, as easy as it is for us to speak to Him, the average Christian has a hard time hearing His voice. This is not the way the Lord intended it to be.

The Bible makes it clear to us that God speaks, in fact He spoke and all the creation came to pass. He spoke to our fathers of old and He is speaking now. Don’t let anyone deceive you, God is speaking now. He is still the same God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and He speaks either through our fellow brethren in the Lord, our pastors and elders, but majority to us directly or indirectly. It is up to you and I to hear His voice.

The Lord constantly speaks to us and gives us His direction. It’s never the Lord who is not speaking, but it’s us who are not hearing. We are so busy and busy that our body is not quiet and still to hear His voice. We are supposed to be in the sheep fold so when He speaks we can hear. Jesus made some radical statements about hearing His voice in John 10:3-5. He was speaking about Himself as the Shepherd of the sheep and the only way to enter the sheepfold.

Many of us have received degrees to the extent that we have become so intelligent that, we dictate what God has to tell us. Some deny His voice all because, what He is saying is not religiously accepted nor practiced. Peter could have become Paul, an Apostle to the gentiles, if only he had listened to God’s voice in Acts 10:9-16, rather he was still in his intelligent and traditional mind for three times, God gave up.

Three times he denied, because it is not religiously accepted. Because of that God has to look for another person to spread the gospel to the gentiles. That is why Paul who accepted became great in the new testament with 13 epistles and Peter had 2. Be careful, God is ready to talk to you, but be in expectation and be ready to obey.

Divine Instructions 2.

Topic: Divine Instructions 2.

Memory Verse: Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end. Proverbs 19:20 (KJV)

I continue from yesterday's word. Beloved, instructions are guiding principles of achieving your next level. If you forbid instructions, you forbid progress and acceleration in life. Some are crying now because they didn't listen the instructions from their parents and pastors. God speaks primarily to us through the scriptures, if we forbid His words, we cannot prosper here on earth. It is the blessings of the Lord that makes us blessed, not by your academics, because if you are a doctor and do not follow the principles of life, you end up as a laborer.

Divine instructions bring the change we need. It takes us into the promise land, it guides our path into glory, make us fruitful and they lead us into prosperity. Divine instructions are divinely known through scriptures or by revelation. From Egypt God divinely guided the Israelites into the promise land. By divine instructions David brought down Goliath, by the same principle Haman was buried instead of the Jews.

This Book of the Law, the Bible, shall not depart from your mouth, in the same way, this book must not be departed from your life, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. That is to say, you shall follow it, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

When God reveals don’t play just around it, please obey. This will make your way prosperous. If you bought a new furniture and you want to assemble it, if you don't follow the manual, you may try but it may not be as perfect as if you had used the manual to set it up. The Bible is our manual of life, without it, you cannot prosper in this wicked world. It adds value to life. God bless you.

Divine Instructions.

Topic: Divine Instructions.

Memory Verse: Hear, my son, and accept my sayings And the years of your life will be many. Proverbs 4:10

Main Texts: Exodus 12:1-13

Without instructions you have no value. What a product is made of doesn’t matter but what it can be used for. In a great house there are many vessels but the one that places a higher demand on itself is used. It takes your obedience to the instructions of God to be used profitably to the kingdom. Many are dead, they were doctors, engineers, nurses, pharmacist, professors etc. but who they are didn’t matter except what and whom they lived for.

Divine instructions bring the change we need. Lead us into the promise land, guide our path into glory, make us fruitful and lead us into prosperity. Divine instructions are divinely known through scriptures or by revelation. From Egypt God divinely guided the Israelites into the promise land. By divine instructions David brought down Goliath, by the same principle Haman was buried instead of the Jews.

You cannot have your way out until you are guided out by the power of God. Paul and Silas were kept in prison it took divine instructions for them to come out. Peter the same was there but it took the divine guidance from God for him to come out. Divine instructions lead us out of bondage or anything the devil has placed us into.

When God reveals don’t play just around it, please obey. In today’s reading, the people in Egypt were instructed by God to mark their door post with the blood of the lamb, many who obeyed got life, those who didn’t obey died no matter who they were. Who you are in this case doesn’t matter, when the angel of death saw the blood he passed over. Don’t fast when it is not needed, don’t sing when the instructions states it differently. They could have prayed for the Jericho walls to come down, but the instruction was different.

Wrong Garment

It is sad to note that, many have been placed under bondage all because, they are ignorant that, what they wear describes who they are no matter what is in the inside. Beloved, it is the inside that affects the outside. Until the inside is clean, it can never put on clean clothes. What you wear determines where you are going, also, what you do and where you are coming from.

When you see a man dress in suit, you will never assume that the man is going to the farm neither is he going for a battle. Farm clothes are casual and soldiers go for war in their own garments. When you see a woman with a mini skirt, showing off her cleavage, her breasts, and other seductive parts of her body where will you think she is going? Where will you think she is coming from and who do you think she is? The same applies to a man that has all his underwear showing off.

Don't let anybody confused you with ignorance. If you dress like an arm robber no matter whether you have given your life to Christ or not, under police raid you will not be spared. Remember, people don't see the inside of you but the outside. Your garment attracts both blessings and curses. Joshua the High Priest was wearing a wrong garment. He was standing before the Lord serving, his dirty garments was creating a stumbling block.

Please take this message serious. God told me sometime, "have you seen a teacher wearing a military clothes to school". These days wrong garments have infiltrate the church. Fashion of all sorts and no body knows where they are coming from. You cannot distinguish who a christian is. These have become points of contact to all our problems and shame.
