Memory Verse:  A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger. Proverbs 15:1

Word For Thought: Harsh words destroy relationships.

It takes a long time to build relationships but my dear, one harsh word, can break down the tower of perfect relationship. Out of anger some people act and statements are made. These statements turn out to be harsh words that hurt the soul. In fact people weep over and over again, their soul is broken all because out of anger, inappropriate words were made. People are not of themselves when these words are made. When they regain their consciousness, they realize the damage.

Some perfect marriages did not come on, due to harsh words, a business plan went down the drain also, and some children were not born due to harsh words, some people committed suicide, based on a word spoken out of anger. These words can hurt the other whiles the one making it rages in anger. The root cause for people to harshly deal with others with such words depends on the interest and the trust they have for each other. That is to say when trust is broken in a relationship, anger leads to harsh words.

Harsh words may be unconscious curses pronounced to another. A mother may curse her own children when she is not able to control herself with words. Many of us are suffering now all because of words spoken by people especially our parents. Our mouth leads us into blessings or curses, life and death lies on the tongue. As we speak, we release life or death.

Since harsh words are pronouncements made out of anger, they can be words of death. As released, death sentence is pronounced. A mother told her children they will not amount to anything, and these words became a curse upon their head. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret because harsh words cause harm. Be slow to anger, please watch your words. God bless you.

Wrong Hands

Topic: Wrong Hands 

Memory Verse:  And Esau said, “Is he not rightly named Jacob? For he has supplanted me these two times. He took away my birthright, and now look, he has taken away my blessing!” And he said, “Have you not reserved a blessing for me?” Genesis 27:36

Main Texts:   Genesis 27:1-24, Proverbs 10:22

Word For Thought: It takes only the grace of the Lord to matter here on earth.

Our hands are meant to receive. When you graduate any course or a school program, you use your hands to receive your certificate of completion. In fact, you used your head to study, but yet it is the hands that receives. It is the hands that feed the body, if it goes on strike the rest of the body suffers.

Blessings and curses are received through the hands. What if the hands which is meant to receive and do all it takes for the body to live is wrong. Instead of your hand, wrong hands can receive your blessings. When Isaac was about to die, he called his eldest son Esau, “ please take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me.  And make me savory food, such as I love, and bring it to me that I may eat, that my soul may bless you before I die.”  In then end, his destiny landed in the hands of another.

Esau was the rightful owner of the blessings, but yet, his brother Jacob took it from him. Whichever way you look at this story, a blessing can miss its rightful owner so we must pray. Many people are dead now with their not fulfilled destiny due to the effect of the wrong hands.

When wrong hands receive your blessings on your behalf, it will only take divine grace for you to succeed. Wrong hands can exchange your blessings with a curse for you. Wrong hands place your destiny on hard rocks, where struggle in life is inevitable. Wrong hands bring in wrong tidings instead of you walking in line of destiny, you walk away from it.

Wrong hands could be the household demon who takes away the blessings of the family. Esau's predicament was in his own house. We need to pray to change the hands of every household demon. In a particular home, nobody succeed or has a good marriage, nobody brings forth, nobody goes ahead in education. My uncle suddenly died on his way to receive his school certificate, A household demon can wipe out entire generation and  can kill every member of the household. It takes only the grace of the Lord to matter here on earth.

Tomorrow By This Time

Topic: Tomorrow By This Time 

Memory Verse:  For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5 (NKJV)

Main Texts:   2 Kings 7:1-20 

Word For Thought: God is capable of turning your mourning into dancing.

Weeping and sorrow has their expiring date. According to scriptures, they endure only for a night, but joy comes in the morning. No matter how long the night is, my dear, your morning is assured. So may be you are walking through some night moments in your life, sorrow and weeping have been your bread and butter, lunch and dinner, the Lord God Almighty says, "your morning has come".

Tomorrow comes with full assurance, in fact your tomorrow is your time of deliverance, your tomorrow is your next level of better life, your tomorrow comes with relief and hope, your tomorrow comes with joy, so I don't know what you are experiencing now, tomorrow by this time, God will surely make a way for you.

Looking at all odds, it looks like it cannot be, Abraham was stricken with age, but yet God made him a father, Sarah's womb was dead yet God of better tomorrow made it alive, Joseph was in the dark of the day but he came out as a prime minister, it looks like the all hope is gone but God, will surely deliver, these Egyptians you see today, by tomorrow the judgment of God shall fall upon them in Jesus name.

Don't give up, if men have given up, God has not. His ways are not like them, man is limited but God is limitless, man can change but God id changeless. I used to experience my night of weeping and sorrow, but God brought my tomorrow with great joy, and I feel in my spirit you are next. May be you are been tormented by demons, witches and wizards, spiritual marriage and family bondage, at the sound of my voice, may God deliver you in Jesus name.

End has come to any afflictions in your body, God is capable of turning your mourning into dancing. That great famine was averted in Samaria, it was bitter and deadly, but God changed that only by tomorrow. How He will do it, depends on Him. God bless you, please prepare to go to church this weekend.

Forgiven, but Not Forgotten

Topic: Forgiven, but Not Forgotten

Word For Thought: When you hold grudges, you hold your internal peace.

Some usually tell me brother, I have forgiven and God even knows I have forgiven this man or woman who broke my heart, but I will not forget. Everybody may know what the person did was evil, the destroyed a whole family, destiny, marriage, friendship, business, money, etc. but since we still have life in us, we can still love, because the one who owe the air we breathe is God, and He is very loving.

If God should take our breathe just now, we cannot question Him. He provides what we cannot pay. Doctors charges and in fact, if you have no money, you will die. We pay for the food we eat, the water we drink, the car we drive, the education we need, the clothes we wear, the music we even hear, we pay for anything here we use, but not the air we breathe. God gives breathe to all, both wicked and wise, we are all benefactors of God's mercy. So why can't you show mercy?

Why should you forgive? It is a command and in our main text, if we don't we will not receive one. Suzanne Somers said “Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself.” also Lewis B. Smeedes stated that, “To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that prisoner was you.” You help your own self if you forgive and forget. It is healing to your soul. You live long, your descendants obtain peace. Have you seen a wicked man's generation; the Lord has no mercy to the wicked.

To forgive but not forgetting, is a demonstration of an action without the heart. It is like going to the market to buy tomatoes but as soon as you got there, you took the tomatoes, but you did not pay for it. Although you have tomatoes, but you are hurting the seller, you will not feel ok to go back to the seller again. Some of us, those we can’t forgive will determine our fate. When you forgive, you need to pay for it with your heart. When you apply your heart to it with love, you will always forget it. Don't owe anyone forgiveness, it is a debt hard to pay. God Bless you today.

When The Helper Dies

Memory Verse:  For the Lord saw that the affliction of Israel was very bitter; and whether bond or free, there was no helper for Israel. 2 Kings 14: 26(nkjv)

Word For Thought: When your helper dies, you become stressful instead of being restful.

When your helper dies, your life goes backwards, your future suffers. Without helpers failure and stagnation are inevitable. When your helper dies, you become helpless, you wail instead of winning, you become stressful instead of being restful. When your David dies, your Goliath rages on and is violent. Your helper is a divine man of encounter, a whale the Lord has prepared to swallow you up into your divine assignment, but when they die, you suffer bitterness and weariness.

My Mother Dcns. Christiana Adjakaye became my divine helper to the profession I am in now, what about if she was dead. She met me in church one day and she said “young man, what do you do”, I said store security Maa, the following week I was preparing to work in her hospital with better salary. Ever since, I have ascended through the ranks in the hospital. Many young and dynamic fellows who are out of jobs, who are too far from fulfillment, need their helpers. Your helper is anyone the Lord uses to bless your life, they are people you must expect, but not to be worshiped.

Remember to Adam there was no helper and that was an error. A pastor is not a pastor if there are no members, these members help in the ministry, I have no assignment to write devotions if you don’t partake or read them. If you my readers stop reading them, I will be discouraged, so you are my helpers. God is blessing you through me, if I stop, you lose the heavenly call of early seeking.

Israel did not serve God wholeheartedly and the anger of the Lord was aroused against Israel, and He delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Ben-Hadad, all their days. So the king Jehoahaz pleaded with the Lord, and the Lord listened to him; for He saw the oppression of Israel, because the king of Syria oppressed them. Then the Lord gave Israel a deliverer or a helper, or intercessor, so that they escaped from the hand of the Syrians.

Israel still did not obey and follow the things of God, they sinned and worshiped idols and so another affliction came and it got worse more than the previous one. For the Lord saw that the affliction of Israel was very bitter; and whether bond or free, there was no helper for Israel. Although Noah was an upright man, his family were saved, Abraham became a helper to Lot, Jonathan to David, Joshua to Rehab, Esther to the Jews, Joseph to his family etc.

The  Samaritan became a good one, when he helped his enemy or stranger. Don’t limit your help to people you know, love all, help all and pray for all. God bless you.

Bad Company

Word For Thought: Watch the type of company you choose, you may die but they may live.

Some people are now saying “had they known, they wouldn’t have chosen, that friend who broke their heart, that friend who broke their marriage, the trust and love they had before”. But it may be late. A bad friend can cost you your destiny. A bad friend can break you, a bad friend can pressure you to fail, a bad friend is a cancer to progress, a bad friend is a wolf in sheep's clothing, a snake under grass looking for a time to bite.

My dear, a bad friend can land you in hell fire. I believe some people are in hell now because of the advice they took from a very bad companion. A bad company may not only be a friend, it can be a bad character, bad attitude, bad husband or wife just like Jezebel  and Haman. A bad company may be a business or a profession rendering bad services o harm the health and sanity of people. All these are little foxes that can spoil the vines.

Amnon had a half sister called Tamar, but out of lust and desires of the flesh, he loved to rape her own sister. He desired lustfully only to have sex with her, but not to marry her, which could have been possible. But Amnon had a friend whose name was Jonadab the son of Shimeah, David’s brother. It was known that Jonadab was a very crafty man. So Jonadab said to him, “Lie down on your bed and pretend to be ill. And when your father comes to see you, say to him, ‘Please let my sister Tamar come and give me food, and prepare the food in my sight, that I may see it and eat it from her hand.’ The father, David agreed and Amnon succeeded raping her own sister.

This act costed Amnon’s own life whiles Jonadab was living. This act disintegrated his family whiles Jonadab had a rich family. Beloved, be very careful of friends who will indulge you to sin, they will repent and you will go to hell, they will advise you to lose your husband so they can take over, they can advise you to leave your job so they can occupy that position. Dear, may God help you in choosing friends. Take care of the little foxes, they are mercilessly dangerous.

When God is Silent

Topic: When God is Silent

Memory Verse:  These things you have done and I kept silence; you thought that I was just like you; I will reprove you and state the case in order before your eyes. Psalm 50:21

Word For Thought: Remain intimate, even when it seems He is not there

I believe one of the ways God announce His presence in our life is when He is silent. When things around us are silent so that we can really focus on Him, pray and reconcile. When there are too much chaos and noise in our life, crisis abound and mistakes are inevitable, but the silent mind producea a reliable character. Elijah was a prophet of God but when Jezebel raised her ugly head on him, he prayed expecting God in the quake of the earth and the wind, but God came in a still small voice.

We may earnestly seek God, but in return only sense His silence. And this silence can be difficult, frustrating even excruciating. The Bible tells the story of Job, who was well acquainted with God's silence. In his pain and suffering, he cried out to God. He asked for answers and he kept asking; but for the first 37 chapters of the book of Job, his cries for God's help and relief were met only by God's deafening silence. As Christians, we are not always going to hear God's voice, but from Job we can learn a few practical things to do when God seems silent. This is the time we must remain trusted in the Lord, just as Job.

God may be silent to a Nation for a reason. When there is sin upon the nation. Achan sinned and God was silent concerning the battle of Ai. Israel was slayed in the hands of a small nation Ai. In the span of three years and six months, there was a famine in Samaria, which prompted prophet Elijah to pray, but the Lord answered after a long time.

“After a long time, in the third year, the word of the LORD came to Elijah: “Go and present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the land.”

After the long silence time, the Lord answered. The famine was three and a half years long. For three and a half years, the people apparently continued to sin, Elijah continued to hold on by faith, but God said nothing. God was apparently silent and He was not speaking even to His great servant Elijah during this time. God hate sin and any form of disobedience separates His presence. 

David said in Psalm 51:9-11 “Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Please don’t do what will put God into silence, which is dangerous.

Double Portion

Memory Verse:  Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs. Isaiah 61:7

Word For Thought: Remember you can ask for double.

We serve an awesome God. He has in abundance for you can ever ask or think. Unless you want to be limited, He is not. He is limitless, changeless God who is ever ready to restore and provide to your needs. He says, ask of Him and He will give the heathen for thine inheritance, so at the sound of my voice, anything profitable, good and glorious in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that has been stolen from you is been restored double in Jesus name!

Double Portion is an inheritance of the sons of God. Double portion is a state of life, or a state of restoration, where the child of God operates with divine power. Double portion is a multiplication of power to function not and added factor. When a man receives a double portion, he receives power, and that is to say, multiples of what God has designed for his life.

Elisha sought for power not the things of this world. The anointing of Elijah was his target, not the properties of Elijah. What you seek in life, will determine the pace you will go; so hopeless people do not make it. The other sons of the prophet knew Elijah was to be taken out to heaven but they did nothing. Nothing is dangerous, today please ask God something and as according to His will, your double portion is guaranteed. A change is effected if something is done. Remember you can ask for double. Do something.

Under God's Security

Word For Thought: When you are under God, you are above threats.

When sometimes I say I shall not be moved by any form of threat in this life, people may think I am bragging. In fact some do brag, but not the one who has seen the light and is a living proof about the great things our God is doing. I believe that you are also a testimony, speak God's word to yourself, they are spirit and life.

There is a place in the Lord called the secret place. In fact, when a man is in this place, no sickness, poverty, wickedness, barrenness, etc. can harm him. That person enjoys all round rest. At this level that person is kept under God's security 24/7, whiles above any form of threats and no form of weapon can harm him or her. 

To be secured in life, is to be free from life threats and danger. It is a state of life which cannot be achieved but lived. Money can buy you guns but cannot secure you, it can also buy you buildings, both if possible in the air, under ground house or under the water, wherever that house may be, it cannot guarantee your safety. The wicked and violent man can still reach you. To be secured in this life and to enjoy peace cannot be bought with money, but only God who can guarantee your peace and safety.

When we look at the life of David, he is a lived proof of God's divine protection. Most of his psalms talk about God's security over his head. in Psalm 89, God said "I have found David My servant; With My holy oil I have anointed him, with whom my hand shall be established, My arm also I will strengthen; also the enemy of threats in life shall not deceive or overtake him; that is a full coverage insurance. It is an all inclusive coverage, no wonder he said "the Lord id my Shepherd, I shall not want". Be blessed on this bless full Sunday.

Word For Thought: Violent men's heart is unquenchable, unless they die.

The story of Haman is one of the most unfortunate family tragedies that happened to a family. Haman planned to destroy entire Jews, but the turnaround grace of God, favored the Jews. He sought to destroy all the Jews who were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus. The reason was that, Modecai refused to bow to him.

A violent man is a man, who designs and encourages plans to do evil. They sleep and wake up all full of wrath to wipe out entire generation. A man was the cause of all the misfortunes in his family. He killed his brother, killed his children, and then put the wife in psychiatric unit. When a violent woman arise, she can poison the husband only to take all the family inheritance to herself, she will kill anyone who stands her way, even her own children will not be spared.

When a church gets violent men in power, they will steal the church money and they will behave like they are the financiers of the church. Beware of violent pastors, they have dangerous messages. It takes a violent Elder to sleep and fornicate with the young women in the Church, the same for Deaconesses. When a church does not pray, the prey, witches and wizards will prevail. Dear one, a maid in house of no prayer can easily become the boss‘s wife, when madam lives like a madam, no prayer.

When a violent friend is in force, he will stop you in every way, from advancing in life. A violent friend will behave like he or she loves you, but in the inside he or she is a lion in disguise just seeking your flesh and to lick your blood. They will celebrate with you at your party, but remember unless God intervenes, you are going home as a slowly dying man. You have been poisoned.

At the sound of my voice, may you be delivered in Jesus name! No violent shall befall you today!! No weapon shall destroy your family today! Any plan of a violent man is destroyed by fire in Jesus name! If Esther had not fasted and prayed, Haman would have succeeded. Yes, if you don’t pray, violent men will prevail and you may consider their events as an affliction, good to endure. Dear, shut the mouth of blood suckers in Jesus name. Enough is enough of their mischief. Pray!!

Over the years I have noticed almost in every church, including mine that, weekly days of worship for prayer meetings and bible studies always record the lowest attendance whiles weekly TV shows record the highest viewing on the weekdays. The is very sad, you only see a handful of people praying on the weekday of prayer, sometimes nobody shows up at all. On the average a little less than a quarter number of people who attend Sunday services come for the weekday services. That is a representation of less than 25% of people who attend church on Sundays. This problem can be as a result of bad church leadership, but in most cases, it is an individual spiritual problem.

To be spiritual is to connect your total will to the things of God. To play your part as a covenanted child of God. That is to say your time, energy, knowledge, money, family, properties etc. to God. In that case, you owe not your life or will, but to God. That is Christianity, when God’s will cross our will. It will be very difficult for a true spirit filled Christian stay home watching TV or doing non-emergent activity when there is a church going on.

Spirituality problem is the cause of minimal church influence in the society. The society does not see any difference between a believer and a non-believer. Some pastors, elders, pastor’s wife and other church leaders dressings as well as their hair cut is none other but a hip pop gangster. Believers dancing to worldly music and singing them at parties and weddings showing no remorse. This is the cause of powerlessness of our influence over the nation and our society.

This is the plan of the devil. We have been born again in the spirit. When we are in the spirit, we fulfill the things of God and our heaven is secured. The devil wants to destroy us by enticing us to the world. Many are falling day by day, we need to get back to God, for the Kingdom of God is at hand. Give no place to the devil, pray, fast and read the bible so that you can grow in  the spirit of God, day by day. I love you, God bless you.

Word For Thought: It takes divine favor to be favorable

I don’t know what I will do without the divine grace from God. I was not born into a rich family, I struggled with education, I struggled having friends because they were always providing, I couldn’t dignity was far, was sent home several times for school fees, college fees and others. But divine grace of God saw me through. I finished with a first class in college and that same God is about to favor you today.

The favor of God has no limits. It doesn’t matter whether you are in a pit, you can still be placed on top. It does not care whether you are in the army or not, yet you can kill Goliath. The favor of God is not respecter of persons, when you receive the divine grace from God you run above your peers. Those that say, you will not amount to anything, shall say, it is the Lord’s doing and so it is marvelous. What every man need is the Grace of God. The grace will surely make you blessed.

Brother Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, he may be educated, maybe he had the great stature in the family, maybe he was the one who got married in the family but yet he was living a painful life. The outside was good, but something in the inside was troubling him. He was not even celebrated at his birth, no cards, no gold, silver, frankincense, etc. his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.”

Maybe your name has no honor, but today, the favor of God can make you a blessing. With all these challenges, Jabez called on the name God of Israel saying, “Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that your hand would be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested. I want you to pray this; your destiny must take shape today.

The Shining Light

Topic: The Shining Light

Word For Thought: Darkness cannot stand Light

Darkness cannot stand any form of light. Darkness give way for light, but it depends on the amount of light and the type of darkness. Some lights are too dim to see. The light at the football pitch cannot be compared with the light in the bedroom. Although it is light, but it cannot shine even on the street for people to see, great light takes care of great darkness. Looking at Mathew 6:14-15; Jesus admonished the disciples to let their light shine, which means we must always put smiles on our face, rely on the Lord and have the faith that it shall be well.

There is light, but there is Light. Jesus is the great Light of the world. I may love you but His love is far better than mine. He died and rose again in glory, only for you and I, His love is unconditional. He is the Light of this world. Jesus is the shining Light, when He shines no amount of light can be compared to.

When God saw darkness, He spoke Light. Anytime you experience darkness, remember to call on the name Jesus. Darkness is representation of life misfortunes, struggles, disappointments, rejections, depression, sorrows etc. Until you receive the great light Jesus, you still remain in bondage. As many that received him, they received power to become children of the most high.

Darkness is also a representation of evil world. When evil took over the earth, God said “Let there be Light”. Today I do not know what you are going through, but I am here to declare that, Let there be Light in Jesus name! If you are facing any life threat, remember Jesus is with you and. You will not die until you make the difference here on earth.

Word For Thought: Ask; the spirit behind the music before your spirit moves

In fact music plays an integral part in worship whether Godly music or worldly music, every music is either glorifying God or it glorifies Satan. No matter the words in it. God likes music; in fact He created an angel only to produce music in heaven, and this same angel later rebelled and his name became evil in His sight. Hear me, not every song that mentions a word in Christianity is a Christian music. Look for the source, and only the one who made it knows it, if he is not a believer, please it is not good for you.

They say music is the food for the soul. It can be right. If so then it must be food that you are not allergic to, or else it will give you problems. Many people became possessed just by the song they danced to. 

There is more to music than we know. There is the “magical" power to music, and it goes beyond the lyrics. It really penetrates into the deepest recesses of the spirit. Evil spirit came to possess King Saul, but it took music to deliver him. Religious or Christian music lifts us up, also encourages us, but worldly music throws us out.

There was a time in my life God put me to test in this. I developed interest in worldly music. And to my surprised, each time I play I get a ticket on my car or my car will breakdown. It continued for a while, later on when I got to know, that was my last.

Christians should dance to only Christian music because you do not know the spirit behind the music. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, decided not to dance to Nebuchadnezzar’s idol music and in the end God glorified in their life. If we want the same, we must do the same.

Wicked Heart

Topic: Wicked Heart

Word For Thought: When the heart is wicked, how can you know it?

Note here, that what the eyes see may not reach the heart, likewise in the mind, it may also be different before the heart receives. A young man or woman may find a woman on the road, the eyes may see, the mind will interpret what was seen, then it settles in the heart, then action will follow. This is the general rule about how we process what we see. It is unfortunate that, the mind may be wicked and so it will process wickedness, then wickedness will settle in the heart. No wonder, a man or a woman can marry a man or a woman with a wicked heart. Not everything that is from the heart that the mouth speaks. Some people are creative liars, they will do all it takes to put you down.

Many are crying now all because, they are dealing with a wicked heart. Marriages are down, children are homeless, there is no peace, family torn apart, the church divided, relationships broken, all because of a wicked heart. From our anchor scripture, it says nobody can see through what is in the heart. The heart has no mouth, eyes, ears, nose or hands, so how can you determine what is in the heart. I believe if a heart can be opened to see what is in it before you enter into any relationship, many couples and people who are about to marry will opt for that. But the sad news is that, you cannot know what is in the heart.

We are in the era of  wickedness, sufferings and robbery. After creation and as men began to multiply, People started fornicatiing with the sons of God. People became idolatrous to the extend that men began to sleep with the angels. That was troubling, today men are sleeping with men, woman to woman, this is troubling. God has to wipe out Sodom and Gomorrah all because of the wickedness of the heart. It repented God, that He created man.

Sometimes, you wish you never met him or her, love in regret is as a result of the wicked heart. More are crying and in depression because of a wicked heart. How can you deal with it? Love, positively back or in return. Pray and ask God to avert any wickedness approaching you from a heart.
